Game info MOUZ x Fnatic

MOUZ and Fnatic compete this Tuesday, November 1, in the Swiss round 3 of the IEM Rio Major 2022 Challengers Stage. A not-so-anticipated matchup in the 2-0 stage (2 wins and 0 losses) on the Challengers Stage takes place in this duel, as both teams were considered favorites to advance to the next stage, but not without losing at least one round beforehand. As it is regarded as a qualifying round, where both teams won their first two rounds, the match will be played in MD3 format (best of three maps). The match is scheduled to take place at 16:30 UTC.

How IEM Rio Major 2022 works

In principle, the IEM Rio Major 2022 is a competition that will bring together all the best teams in the world in search of the most coveted title in CS:GO (Counter Strike Global Offensive), the Major. The tournament will start at the Challengers Stage. In this stage, the games take place in the Swiss format. That is, the winners face each other, and the losers also face each other. In the next phase, called Legends Stage, the Challengers Stage qualifiers join the 8 Legends teams of the competition, which were the teams that passed with the best placement in the RMR.

Finally, the last phase is called the Champions Stage, which works like a knockout. The eight best teams face each other until the tournament's grand champion is defined. All games in this phase will be in MD3 (best of three maps). The IEM Rio Major 2022 is US$1.250.000, which will be distributed to the best place: first place will receive US$500.000, second place will take home US$170.000, and third and fourth will with a prize pool of $80.000 each.

MOUZ

At first, the MOUZ team appears in this match after winning the Swiss round 2 of the IEM Rio Major 2022 Challengers Stage against Evil Geniuses. Before analyzing the last round of the German organization, it is worth remembering how they performed in the debut of the Major. Facing the Outsiders in hell, they started on the counter-terrorist side and managed to open a small lead, winning 9×6. They made an overwhelming offensive side in the second half and managed to dominate their opponents tactically, not losing any round and finishing 16×6 on aggregate.

In the last match, they faced the North American players of Evil Geniuses on the mirage map and managed to win the second consecutive one in the Challengers Stage. In the first half, they once again presented a gala offensive side and managed to open a significant advantage on the unfavorable side of the map (terrorist) by 11×4. They had some difficulty closing the match in the second half, but they submitted their opponents by 16×10 on aggregate.

Fnatic

On the other hand, the Fnatic team appears in this clash after winning the Swiss round 2 of the IEM Rio Major 2022 Challengers Stage against OG. Before analyzing the last round of the Swedish organization, it is worth remembering how they performed in the debut of the Major. Facing Cloud9 in inferno, they started opening up a good advantage being on the counter-terrorist side (10×5), looking like they would have no problem closing the match. However, his opponents played an excellent defensive role in the second half and managed to tie the match. In overtime, Fnatic got the better of it and closed on aggregate by 19×17.

In the last match, they faced the European organization of OG on the mirage map and were superior throughout the match. Even being on the negative side (terrorist) in the mirage in the first half, they managed to win by the minimum difference of rounds (8×7). In the second half, they only managed the small advantage obtained at the beginning of the match and won their second consecutive by the score of 16×13.
